Earth Fare just opened its second location in Atlanta this week in the Emory area. If you aren’t familiar with Earth Fare, they are an organic grocery store that originated out of North Carolina. Since opening in the 1970s in North Carolina they have expanded their locations throughout the southeast. I remember my cousin Jasmine telling me she shopped at Earth Fare while in college at Elon in North Carolina so I was excited to visit this new store. If you know me, you know I try to stick to a organic, all-natural, limited processed foods diet. If it’s straight from the earth or an animal I’ll eat it. Which is perfect Earth Fare's philosophy is that they ban all products that contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial fats or artificial trans fats, artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial preservatives, artificial sweeteners, antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones.

The store design is very open and airy and easy to navigate. As you shop around you will notice they carry a lot of locally sourced products. I was surprised to see so many fresh fruits and vegetables that were from the area. They also carry a ton of gluten-free products.

The one thing I think families and busy bees like me will enjoy is their prepared foods section. Their prepared foods section has a pizza bar, a sandwich bar, a sushi bar, a hot bar, and a salad bar. Each day of the week they offer a different $6 dollar special from this area. They also have healthy meal kit boxes for kids that contains one entree item paired with fruit or veggies. Perfect for the busy mom who doesn’t have time to make her kids lunch!

Earthfare also has an extensive wine and beer selection that is hand picked by the staff at the store. They try to carry a lot of local breweries and vineyards as well.

My favorite part of the store was the ravioli refrigerator. They have refrigerator case where you can customize your ravioli for tonight’s dinner. Perfect for a date night. Their selection rotates often and they have pretty unique variety. Since I don’t do dairy I was happy to see they also carry a vegan  ravioli.  

I also loved their vast selection of cheeses, they have so many dairy and nondairy options.

A trip to Earth Fare is a bit of a drive from where I live and work but it's definitely worth a weekend trip.
