My 80 day obsession journey: Round 1

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I have been on a wellness journey during this pandemic. When we got placed in quarantine last February I set a goal to work out every day or walk in my neighborhood. I dabbled in different workouts for the first few months but when I was laid off from my full-time job at the end of the summer I decided to carve out time in my day so I wouldn’t become a couch potato. Working out has helped with my anxiety, grief and been a huge mood booster. It was the confidence boost that motivated me every day. After wrapping up MBF In October I decided to keep the momentum going and try 80 day Obsession. Yep, 80 days of working out! Each morning I blocked out time on my calendar to workout for an hour.

The Journey

Every morning I would wake up at 6:30 a.m. to take Boots, my boyfriend’s dog out for a walk. After we got back from our walk I would eat breakfast. During this journey, I followed a timed nutrition program where I would eat meals at certain times of the day. I cut out sugar, alcohol, and ate a limited amount of processed foods. After eating, I would wait 30 minutes then start my hour-long workout. After working out, women can lose up to 20 grams of protein, so I made sure to refuel with my favorite protein shake or a high protein snack.

My Results

During this journey, I purposely tried not to focus on stepping on the scale. I didn’t want to get hung up on the pounds I lost, I wanted to focus on how my body felt. Those non-scale wins were the motivation that kept me moving forward. Before starting this journey, I didn’t have a flat stomach or a rounded lifted butt. But now, 80 days later, I can see definition in my abdominal muscles and my butt is bigger and rounded. I’ve lost inches all over and I saw the scale drop five pounds.

What’s next?

The biggest question I’ve been getting from people on social media is what’s next? Well, I’m currently wrapping up a bonus week today and next week I’m planning to do 80 Day Obsession all over again. I saw such great results with this program and I want to maintain my muscle gain and tone up more.
